Shawna Nimmo, the founder and creative brain behind Seven Palms, a boutique Port Charlotte, Florida-based firm, has an insatiable thirst for exceptional design.
Her love for conceptualizing spaces began when she reimagined her own backyard and fell in love with the possibilities. While her personal style leans modern and tropical, with warm accents and lush plants (just ask her about the food forest she’s currently cultivating!), she’s endlessly inspired by her clients’ visions and the process of bringing them to life.

Shawna’s love for design stems from childhood—her mom’s an interior designer who knows how to make a room feel right, and Shawna’s passion for livable landscapes was first inspired by cultural touchstones like Tom Sawyer, Tarzan, and Swiss Family Robinson.
When she reimagined her own San Diego backyard—a multi-layered deck design with built-in jacuzzi, horizontal cable railing, and big tipuanas—she knew she’d found her calling. With Landscape Design 101 under her belt, she was quickly hired by Landscape Logic in San Diego, and in 2015 branched out on her own, launching Seven Palms and transforming outdoor spaces all over the San Diego area. Her self-taught repertoire includes 3D design, in-depth pool design knowledge, and deep plant proficiency.
Shawna recently moved with her husband and young son to Port Charlotte, Florida, where she’s thrilled to have a whole new slew of tropical plants to play with. Along with in-person consultations in the Port Charlotte area, Shawna virtually designs for clients all over the country.

With his extensive background in pool building, landscapes, and project management, Bobby Nimmo’s experience is the ideal complement to Shawna’s vision and creativity. The two met through their shared love of landscapes while Bobby was working with Majestic Pools in San Diego, and soon they realized that the firm Shawna had established offered the perfect collaboration.
Bobby also has a mind for design, bolstering the dreams of Seven Palms’ clients with his intimate knowledge of construction, helping to ensure each concept is not only a dream come true, but also 100 percent doable. Bobby’s passion for creating truly liveable spaces is also deeply rooted: He grew up watching his dad create an evolving outdoor environment for the family to savor, and it continues to influence the way he thinks about design. His modern, tropical style—which makes beautiful use of natural stones and water features—is guided by the way a client envisions enjoying the space, and he tailors the project so that they can do just that.
